The New School or Public Engagement

The New School awards the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater to graduates of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) integrated program. Working actors and musicians can complete a bachelor's degree in liberal arts on campus in New York City, online, or through a combination of online and on-campus courses.

This program trained me for a performing career on stage and screen, helping to achieve proficiency in acting and musical theatre.

In the first year, we focused on developing technique with a special emphasis on individual work. In the second year, we applied these acquired techniques to develop performance and audition pieces.

Throughout this intensive program, we also learned how to navigate the industry and take charge of your own career.
